Pale Fire: He Xun, Hankang Huang, Zheng Zicheng

15 April - 20 May 2023
AIKE is pleased to present “Pale Fire” a group exhibition that invites viewers to contemplate the fragility of existence and the potential for transformation and rebirth. Featuring recent paintings by He Xun, Hankang Huang and Zheng Zicheng, the exhibition will be on view from 15 April to 20 May 2023.

The exhibition is an exploration of the liminal spaces between existence and oblivion, of the moment between dusk and dawn, of the intangible realm where dreams and reality intersect. The exhibition captures the elusive and transient nature of the metaphor, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of hope, loss, and transformation. Each piece of work interpreted the metaphor in their own way, offering a variety of perspectives on the concept. The exhibition is a testament to the transformative power of art, reminding viewers of the transience of life and the eternal power of art to uplift, heal and inspire.

A short novel inspired by the pictorial narrative of the exhibited works will be commissioned during the exhibition. By inviting a novelist to engage with each artist, the exhibition also seeks to fill the gap between local literature and the visual art scene.
