(Fan Zhongyan,'On Yueyang Tower' 1946) This ancient Chinese principal, also found in various cultures, says that a person should not be affected by the outside world and its ever-changing conditions. On the contrary, it proves the cruel truth, that people will indeed be influenced by their surroundings. Not surprising that the weather forecast appears in local newscasts first, before terror or politics.
Sharing weather information, the easiest and most universal topic of conversation brings people closer. The reason might be that it is one of the very few situations people still have in common. We must accept these natural conditions which can't be violated or defied . The four artists presented here each address this concept in their own way.
